Discovery Alliance was founded by Lori Nesbitt,
PharmD, MBA, who has a background in University-based research.
Dr. Nesbitt was inspired to form Discovery Alliance after seeing the frustrations of a family member participating in clinical research. The family member had to travel several miles in order to participate because nothing was available in her community.
Dr. Nesbitt has set the vision and mission of the company and has hired a senior management team with the expertise to implement this vision.
Dr. Nesbitt received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Purdue University. She completed a post-doctoral psychopharmacology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and her MBA degree from Tulane University. Prior to founding Discovery Alliance, Dr. Nesbitt served as Director of the Clinical Research Center and Assistant Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pharmacology at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
